The moss flora of New York City and vicinity by Abel Joel Grout, pHD, c. 1916. Google Books makes me want 2349328472 old books.

Field Trip South ~ Southern Folklife Collection blog

Dead Star Encased in Diamond Shroud ~ tell me about it, scienceland. This is the new name of my goth band.

Sepia Town ~ maps with old photos overlaid. WHAT. This is so amazing. I need to add some of my old family photos of NYC.

Tin Eye ~ Reverse image lookup — for all those un-credited photos on tumblr!

Grow House Grow ~ Can I have a house of my own so I can put all these wallpapers up?

P.S. I moved my blogroll to it’s own page!! Check out the link at the top of the site! I try to add the blogs I read, but let me know if you think I’d like yours!

  1. Can I just say HALLELUJAH! to that Tin Eye thing…! Even though it doesn’t work half the time, at least someone is trying. It drives me nuts when people don’t give credit to artists and a remiss in citing sources. I don’t know how people can NOT want to know these things, honestly!

Two things that I can’t stop staring at right now are this ol’ gal (speaking of things going uncredited…just who is she anyway?)

and this fantastic illustration by Gustaf Tenggren:

And if “dead star encased in a diamond shroud” is going to be the band name, I cannot wait to hear the titles of the songs!
