spring color

Here’s a project I’ve been waiting ALL WINTER to do (you can’t spray paint in the cold) and since then, a certain neon stool has made the blogging rounds. Well, dang it, I’m going to paint mine anyway, and I think it makes a great occasional table between the chairs in the living room. I may still repaint the legs, or leave them chipped and old looking – I can’t decide. {This is a Krylon “Safety Red” with a Valspar clear lacquer}

Please don’t judge me for the state of my floors, and the abject filth in the before photo, it was a quick snap before dragging the stool out to the garage. I am having an impossible time with the dust from the main road we’re on. Housekeeping! Who knew it was such a trial. I’m dealing with plenty of other more important life trials right now.

  1. LOVE the stool! i have some sunny yellow krylon for some old dining chairs of mine that we use for extra seating in the living room and a towel “shelf” in the bathroom, but i’ve been putting it off since OCTOBER!! it’s such a pity that those paint-splattered gems have been sitting in our apartment for so long looking so sad….

    maybe this will be my boost of inspiration!
    this weekend it is!
    (hopefully :P)

    toodles.

  2. Soooo pretty! A nice burst of color during a Vermont winter (though I heard it was like 80 last week?!) A cat would look very nice perched on it.
