satin batiste & sea whorls

So, we did not go camping – it will have to wait!! The Bay Area was tossed and battered like a ship in the storms of the weekend, so we spent Valentine’s evening in a tiny turret room, kept awake by lightning, the wind wuthering around the redwood trees, and the sound of Tomales Bay crashing into the rocks below. It was perfect perfect! Dinner with cozy creative people, a fireplace, tiny cakes, & a proper maelstrom outside.

Some sun the next morning, and a few rainbows, too! But then the storms came crashing back. I walked along the shore filling my pockets with shells and bones as the rain came down.

In other news, I am excited about making a wedding dress for my sister in law’s sister, Myra. At first I was a bit hesitant, but I went fabric shopping at Britex & found many amazing things!! I’m going to start experimenting with this stunning Champagne Satin Batiste, made in Switzerland, and a lovely cream American made eyelet. The batiste has the most luminous sheen, you can’t really tell how lustrous it is from the photo. So lovely for an outdoor summer forest wedding!

More prettiness today from Goodwill, teacups, saucers, and a cream pitcher from Bavaria. I apparently have a weird habit of buying china from places my family is from.

I spent the rainy afternoon / day off work with my new camera, taking one million photos for Etsy & eBay. So those listings will go up later this week, there are some amazing goodies!
