I’ve had a rough few weeks. Endings, beginnings, thunder-crashings of life, hibernation, cocooning, blooming, burying. Sowing seeds and tending metaphorical gardens in all parts of my life, and I’m happier than I’ve been in a long time – sense of joy and possibility and Good. Still, shaken and stressed on the journey, with ends yet to resolve. Intentions and focus and magic powers, ahoy.
Saturday was super spoiling me princess day — breakfast with Kate and her little boy Finn – sweet & dear & cozy – they’re just back from Scotland and had stories and tiny bottles of seashells and heather. Dreamy!!! I’d like a wee cottage on the moors, please, and some highland cows. (Kate says “heeeeland coooos,” so cute.) Off to downtown for the strange zen of walking around Bloomingdales, and I did a crazy thing and bought a Treesje bag on epic sale.
I’ve been thinking about getting a “grown up bag” for awhile – it seems like a ridiculous thing, but sometimes my always ragamuffin self wants some fanciness. For me, this is crazy – I always buy used, etc. But I do love it, and it’s huge enough for my laptop, and is fancy but not fussy (grey leather, studs) & has a strap for biking, and shoulder handles. The day then ended with meeting Laura, wandering San Francisco, and dinner at a fancy lovely place with Jonathan and Bella – all my meals were with 6 year olds! I want one of my own!! So adorable!
Then I went to the beach! This is the most perfect still life ever – setting sun, book, quilt. Forever xoxo!
I also got a large ledger sized Moleskine. I have scraps of paper and 342380928 notebooks all over my house with ideas and sketches and “things to make” mixed in with to do lists and grocery lists and random work notes. This notebook is ONLY for things to make, and creative ideas. This way, when I do have time or am wondering what to do next, I have a handy reference guide and I don’t forget ideas!
Sunsets & cozy pub, pots of tea, shepards pie as the fog rolled in. Dreams & magic!
Let the coziness continue forever, please. It’s all chocolate cake, whiskey, and kittens from here on out.

Whiskey and kittens – wonderful. What a dreamy post =) 6 year olds are awesome – but watch out for them in large numbers. A day as a kindergarten teacher might give you all the 6 year olds you need =)

I’m not sure if this is the most appropriate place to post this, but I wanted to make sure you saw this message.
I came across this site quite by accident, but was enchanted by your excellent clothing style. As I was paging through your posts, I came across a post about visiting Davis sometime in June. You were tattooed by Kai Smart… my neighbor. It was at that moment that the world seemed very small.
I live on the other side of her driveway. We have shows on occasion in the back shack. If you ever happen through Davis again, you should come by when we have a show.

I don’t even like whiskey, but something about that combination does sound perfectly cozy.
