moodboard no. 2

Ok, so maybe I’ll put wee wedding snips here. I did start a separate blog for logistics for people who are coming (from all over! Even Berlin!) but as I’ll be putting maps and things it’s sneakret.

I’ve been so down since Janna and my grandmother died, I’ve noticed that it’s been hard to be grounded or present or cheery around my friends, and I’ve felt pretty listless at home, especially around projects or art. For what it’s worth, it’s at least distracting and fun to think about the wedding. Like making a giant stage production. Hey! It’s my background, right?

I’m doing a series of moodboards with the same colors, looking for cohesive themes that pop out. I already have a slew of ideas I haven’t seen around on the internets, so that’s good.  I just heard the phrase “blog-chic wedding” and that makes me die a little inside. So no, it will not be “blog-chic,” but it will be based on our shared love of strange rare books, woodland gnomery, victorian naturalist & general tarnished-sequin aesthetic.

moodboardwedding2If you have any photos stashed with these colors and a 1920s + forestfancy feel, please please link me!!!!

Instead of bridesmaids, I’m having a Fairy Court. I’m not sure how this will work out or even what sort of ceremony we’ll have, but any excuse to get my ladies dressed up and together is a good one. I love love love them.

2458784812_09e7e873c2_bAngel: Officiatrice and magic weaver of all of us! When you need to be sewn to someone, who else will do?

2179156478_daf78384fc_oAnna: Salt of the earth, sugar of the moon, pepper of the sun.

Elly: Star-speaker & world-bender.

Mary Ann: dance-translator of all that has come before & is yet to come.

Holly: magic maker hands & heart that turn all she touches to gold.

Wendy: Spirit sister feral wolf twin.

So much love! And I promise I’ll keep these posts to a minimum.

    1. I have not seen it!!! How pretty!!!! Definitely much farther on the side of “faerie” then I’m headed, but really stunning. I’m referring to them as the “fairy court” because I wanted more bridesmaids than we have groomsmen. But we will have a lot of woodland touches, because we’ll be in the woods!

      Thank you!

  1. What a stunning faerie court you’re going to have! Wow!
I’m happy you are putting your energy into this right now, it takes strong people to lift themselves up through hardships! You go! Life is still moving right along….and it’s beautiful :]

  2. haha it would seem we have similar tastes in everything x there are some nice photos here not really wedding related but i think you will like the colours and the decadence of it all x look under the styling in both sections to the right x

  3. I love you for making me actually excited about a wedding. The moodboard is beautiful and I do hope you’ll be sharing more of them. Thanks for creating this lovely, inspiring space for me to stop by and feel peaceful at Tamera. I’m glad we’ve “met” :-)

    1. whaaattt? if I’ve read this term just randomly dipping into the internet wedding universe, you have to have seen it. assume it means the generic-rustic-charming look all the “real weddings” on the major blogs (once wed, 100 layer cake?) seem to have? or that you spent enough $$$$ that a blog will feature you? no idea.
