house spree

I haven’t been wanting to treasure hunt lately, because everything’s so up in the air. But, life is solidifying (expect more posts, at least) & the spell was broken, so we took a Saturday drive and found some treasures.

This geometric chair, which the cat has already claimed. To redo in maybe a grey canvas? Or a printed canvas? ThisThis? This? Suggestions welcome – my searching gave me a lot of very, very ugly options & not so many nice ones.

Also, yes – I need to learn how to clean wood floors without leaving a film. Shhh. Domestic fail. & also no, that mint green paint will not last long.

Little block lamp. Would be nice with this bulb.

Variations on a theme.

Globe pendant for the living room. It’s huge! I love it. We do need to find a conversion kit. Maybe this one?

I don’t think I realized how much I’d been holding my breath waiting to see if we’d have to move soon. It’s depressing and all-consuming. Still settling from moving cross country, and it’s been 4 months. I keep thinking about spring. SPRING! I can’t wait.

  1. Oooh, congratulations on your awesome thrifting skills. That chair is incredible; I like the caramel & brown Beklina print. The cover that is on it now is pretty intriguing; is it leather?

Those lamps are pretty hot. Chrome lightbulbs!?! I didn’t know there was such a thing. NEAT.

I’m so glad you linked to the wood-floor cleaning technique; it’ll be very handy for me when I move out of my apartment next month. Floors are ick.

I’m so glad you are finally getting some respite to take deep breaths and look at your home in a more permanent way. You’ve come a long way.

  2. UGH I know the house inertia feeling all too well– we’ve moved three times this year! We’re in the process of leaving our beautiful place in Philadelphia and relocating to Savannah, which is where we met, and which will probably be our forever place (family all around; great for making babies; feels like our one true home in this world). But we’ll be staying with family until we find the right house, with our things in storage. Lord, I can’t wait to be settled.

    1. That is WAY too much moving. I’m only now starting to hang things up, and we still have 2 huge rooms filled with boxes. I just want closing to be DONE!

Savannah seems like a beautiful place to settle & a great homebase. Also, no winter!!! Yes, please.
