fall boots

My new fall boots were summoned out of thin air this week after a particularly rabid ankle boot Pinterest session. The next day, I spotted these babies for $5 in a thrift shop near work and nearly fell over. They’re so comfy and flat and short and nice. Love! What are your boot manifestations this fall?

  1. Encouraged by this post I went on Etsy to see if anyone had a pair of the Boots I Want in my size, for once, and THEY DO!

And I even have the money for them right now. But I really need everyday boots…can candy apple red boots be everyday boots? I am so glad that this is the biggest problem in my life right this minute.

  2. I recently wore my black pair to bits! They’re great fall boots, look equally good with jeans/tweed trousers/ skirts. I like red for everyday! Why not?

  3. Oh! My friend found those same exact boots at a thrift store last fall and they always look so stunning no matter what she pairs them with. You guys are some lucky ladies. They are really faboo shoes!

This fall, I am sending out vibes for more tall riding boots. I found a pair of old, USA-made Dexter boots for $10 over the summer and then somehow divined an old boot shaft stretcher (for free!) Now my big ol’ sportswoman calves can know the feeling of knee high boots minus the indignity of having elastic gussets inserted!

  4. I’d been looking for a pair of boots for which I only had two parameters: low heel, and mid calf height. I didn’t really know what I wanted them to look like. I just kept trying them on at second-hand stores and on sale at department stores, but never found anything I liked. I’d pretty much given up and then I was in a second-hand store and a girl was finished trying on a pair of boots, saying they were too big for her. I put them on and it was love. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BIVIEL-Anthropologie-Western-Style-Boots-Mid-Calf-Size-38-7-5-8-/280740450235?pt=US_Women_s_Shoes&hash=item415d6f4fbb These exact ones, and less than the starting bid price.

Now I want a perfect pair of ankle boots with a monk strap, kinda like yours.

  5. all the boots above look/sound great! I second the motion for red boots for everyday – why not, indeed! especially with that ‘model’, the red suits that boot really well.
I found the boots I had been dreaming of for years at my local thrift last spring – a mossy green, leather ‘shoes’ and suede shafts, seventies vibe, stacked heel, but not such a high heel I can’t walk in them, in impeccable condition, and 15 euros! can’t wait to start wearing them.

but they are crazy expensive… and they wouldn’t really go with my resolution to only buy second-hand or handmade stuff… but that’s a whole different story altogether.
