dragons

So, the year of the rabbit has come to a close & the year of the dragon is here. In the last 2 hours, I fell really hard on ice (like a cartoon!) & got covered in mud and banged up, the cats killed a mouse, the thing that makes the bath water stay in the bath broke off as I was trying to take a bath, and I got an ER bill for $1300. Auspicious my ass!

But seriously, dragons. I’m adopting this year as my second year of magical power. (Sean has called me Dragon as a nickname since we met, as I am all fire & and I like shiny treasure.)

Reflecting back, I did not kick as much ass as I should have in the year of the rabbit. Sure, I moved across country, got the new job I wanted, put the wheels in motion on a house purchase and managed to spend my 1st married year sans homicide and divorce, but I feel like I barely did ANYTHING. Look at what Angeliska accomplished this year? Phew.

Anyway. Year of the Dragon! The thing I love about dragons is that they’re one of those myths that are omnipresent. Collective unconscious from the dawn of storytelling! Time for fearlessness, and high risks which give high returns. Chaos and fast fast fast pace! If you’re prone to overwhelm (yes, I did just start sobbing after all that stuff tonight) take extra precautions to prep yourself for dragon whirlwinds. It’s about getting stuff done & jumping into the fray, high energy, mobility, and prosperity.

Dragon things to do this year

1. Visit Ljubljana

2. Hoard gold

3. Smite all obstacles with fire

    1. I bet it will be! My feet went right out from under me and I slammed into the right side of my bum and my right shoulder, while my left wrist tried to catch me. Sigh.

    1. I just feel like ALL my energy went into that move and I have yet to recover! All my usual crafts and side-projects were shelved. Heck, between the wedding / downtime for eye surgery / this move, Big Life Things are taking all my time. It just feels weird to not be making art or having projects. You know?

  1. I think you had a very productive Year of the Rabbit. You had a wedding, moved across country (and took the risk to get your dream job in the place you wanted to be), with a broken sewing machine and EYE SURGERY.

And you did all of that with a lot less whining than you hear from me. 😀

I hope your bruised buttocks feels better soon, though. Ouch.

    1. Welllll, technically the wedding was a few months before, but I was definitely still decompressing / settling in at the beginning of last year. Also, I bought a car in my name! I’d never done that! So much GROWN-UPPING last year!

  2. YES. I love this. I need to hear about movement and energy and brightness. Too often I fall into the resolution of “relax” and “take it in.” Those things are good, but it’s been a while since I took a risk. Right now I feel like I have to *earn* those resolutions of contentment.

I’m hoping to move this year- and given my homebody tendencies, this is a dragon-y risk for me and then some.

  3. Sorry to hear of your inauspicious start to the year of the Dragon, hopefully it’s all upwards ascending from here. I’m prone to being overwhelmed, but will keep the dragon in mind when it inevitably happens (and perhaps also the Khaleesi from Game of Thrones.)

      1. They loved it. Eric’s family is from Slovenia. They went to a family reunion and then toured around. We would have gone except for the timing this year didn’t work.

  4. I knew I had been missing something! Your RSS feed is wonky, so the last post that fed was from January 17th. When I googled your site, a gross subheading about loans came up on the Google result, and going to your site without the leading www gives a 404. Yikes!
