I’ve already flooded twitter and Facebook with a kitten frenzy, but you know, why not here too? We walk past the ASPCA window frequently as it’s near our work & this little guy kept drawing us in – on the 4th visit we finally just brought him home. He & Huey are still being kept apart, and there’s been some door hissing and attacking on Huey’s side, but I hope they adapt and make cozy cuddle time friends and all is ok.

We still haven’t decided on a name – my 6 year old nephew named their dog Captain Burdock, so we were thinking about continuing the theme. Admiral Dandelion? Commodore Milkweed?

I am a big fan of the titled kitty. Ours is Saint Uluf. (By name, rather than nature. Saintliness does not cover dancing on my face at 6am.)

I was going to say LADY MARMALADE, but I guess that is not appropriate. However, he would make a dashing LORD MARMALADE.

For some reason male orange tabbies are always the luvvviest kitties ever. My family had a lot of different cats growing up (my parents recently hit 9 in their household) and I have a tortie and a calico now, but they’re not nearly as affectionate as the orange tabbies. I want one!

For what it’s worth, I named my orange tabby Mr. Darcy. (Although I’m well aware that being orange I should have called him Mr. Bingley!) He is, in true feline fashion, terribly proud and my favourite thing to do is voice-overs for him!

His little brother at the shelter was named Darcy! But he was adopted a few days before. Aw. I have already made up a series of songs for this cat, and also for Huey, mainly around them getting along. Sad cat lady!!

i like admiral dandelion– esp since it derives from the french “dents de lion”–”teeth of the lion” (since dandelion leaves looks like teeth)…

Awww, what a beautiful cat! I really like Admiral Dandelion. Or there’s always Huey and Louie, or Huey and Dewey. Har har.

Someone suggested we name our child (if we decide to procreate) Captain Salvadore St. Valentine. You can borrow the name if you need it.
